Loneshooter Posted January 21 Share #1 Posted January 21 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone, Since the update to the last FOTOS version on iOS 18.2.1, I'm not able to connect anymore my SL3 to the app, it's only me? Thanks for the feedbacks
Advertisement Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Hi Loneshooter, Take a look here Connection problems on FOTOS 5.1.0 and SL3 on 2.0.1 iOS 18.2.1. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Filip Baraka Posted January 21 Share #2 Posted January 21 I also have issues but with SL2. I removed the camera and tried again, which worked okay. Then I connected it in the field, and the app disconnected after a minute. However, somehow the camera noted my GPS position and applied it to all images.
Loneshooter Posted January 21 Author Share #3 Posted January 21 It’s mine same pattern: remove the camera, readded, connection established and down in few moments. On my Q3 all works great

The GPS application to your photos has nothing to do with the connection of the camera to the app. It has to do with Fotos but it works without connection (once you have setup the connection in the first place as you did). And only now try to reconnect.
PhotoCruiser Posted January 25 Share #7 Posted January 25 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) vor 3 Stunden schrieb Loneshooter: Any other experience of this problem? I was out today to shoot a bit as it was finally warm and sunny. The whole GPS coordinates system over the Fotos app work surprisingly well but has some quirks as the one i encountered today. Fotos tell me that camera is not connected and could not connect so i did a forced restart of my iPhone 15 Pro Max and after i could connect but was already about 500 yards further. When i checked at home the photos all - also the one when Fotos said that the SL2 is disconnected - are geotagged so basically all fine and much better as back in 2020 when i had mucho mucho problems with geotagging on my Q2 where is also a tread from me about that. It seems Leica made it that geotagging work stable, it's just the messages are confusing. From what i remeber on the Q2 there are two connections Bluetooth -> for geotagging and establishing the WiFi connection WiFI -> to view and download the photos as bluetooth would be too slow for that If it still does not work do one step more if you have a iPhone(iPad do a forced restart after you removed the camera in bluetooth menu and the Fotos App After the forced restart install Fotos again and then follow the steps to pair and then connect the camera. Search the Apple help site for forced restart for your devices Chris Edited January 25 by PhotoCruiser

Mikkel_S Posted January 29 Share #9 Posted January 29 Latest Fotos update (1 week ago) needs at least IOS 17.0 according to IPad AppStore The most recent "up to date" on my IPad OS is ver. 16,x.x. - That is probably the reason that none of my cameras can connect to Photos on IPad (any more? or for the moment?) ... -Mikkel
Kyosaku Posted February 5 Share #10 Posted February 5 Can't connect M11 and SL3 any more, since I updated the App on Monday. My iPhone is running iOS 18.3. Everything worked fine before the update. I set back my phone (network connections), I set back the cameras, installed the app again, but evertime the same problem shows up. The App finds the camera, connects via bluetooth, but then it does never find the camera to connect fully. Anny suggestions? Kindly, Karl
PhotoCruiser Posted February 5 Share #11 Posted February 5 I run Fotos on my iPhone 15 Pro Max and a iPad 12.9 6th gen, both with newest iOS version, but german. When your phone connects to the camera but not start the WiFi network then the problem is most likely there as Bluetooth will first connect to negociate the WiFi connection. Try to delete al remaining Fotos connection parameters on your iPhone and on your camera, uninstall Fotos, do a forced restart as described here Download Leica Fotos again and install it Run the setup to connect your camera Chris

PhotoCruiser Posted February 5 Share #13 Posted February 5 Do you have the iPhone HotSpot active? If i have the HotSpot active then either HotSpot does not work or WiFi with Fotos get disconnected. Can you see your Leica in Bluetooth devices? Can you see the Leica WiFi in WiFi? Also disabling the iPhones security settings under Settings --> Wlan --> click on the i right side of Leica WLan (if available, then disable the settings below. Data saving mode Private Wlan Adress IP-Address tracking Set DNN-Server to default one, not a manual set ip address You may post your question in the Apple User Forum here: https://discussions.apple.com/welcome Chris
Loneshooter Posted February 11 Author Share #14 Posted February 11 No hotspot active, but the settings you said under wifi menu on iPhone are not available. With iOS 18.3.1 no luck I think my camera is faulty
PhotoCruiser Posted February 11 Share #15 Posted February 11 I see you have already 18.3.1 installed, so thats not the problem. Before you think that the camera is faulty, test with another phone and best would be a Android and a other iPhone. if it still does not work on both phones or tablets then your camera is probably really faulty. Unfortunately Apple OS's have their quirks and the Apple User Forums are full with wired connection problems, mostly after a OS update. Chris
Kyosaku Posted February 11 Share #16 Posted February 11 I had the problem while being in Japan. During that time, I had a second simcard installed (for data only). As soon as I got home to Switzerland I deinstalled that electronic simcard, and Tadaa, phone reconnects perfectly to both cameras. I don’t know why, but I workes like before. Loneshooter Posted February 19 Author Share #17 Posted February 19 Found out a way to "resolve" the problem: switching camera WIFI to 2.4 Ghz. Slower transfer rate, but solid connection: obviously a glitch in the software
