Datsch Posted January 13 Share #21 Posted January 13 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I agree it sounds annoying. With the M-D you have to hold down the top plate function button and rotate the wheel at the same time to get EC. So it never happens by accident. The wheel is - besides being the wheel - just like a button: You can (1) just turn w/o pressing or you can (2) press once and then release before turning or (3) you can press twice and release and the turn. However I never turned and pressed in at the same time. That would be a pain. But unfortunately I just write this from what I remember. Maybe I should stay out of here. Datsch Posted January 13 Share #23 Posted January 13 @M11 for me sorry I was talking about the M-D not the M11-D, just to contrast the old and the new approaches that Leica have taken with this. The M11-D makes it easier to access EC by having on the wheel as default The M-D makes it a little harder yes, but still quick and instinctive and never by accident Personally for the rare times I use A mode these days I tend not to use EC anyway and instead half press AE lock by grabbing the speed I want from a darker or lighter corner of the scene and then reframing.

(or as a speciality the shutter speed when in B ) i think your text should be part of the Leica M11-D manual, @M11 for me ! thank you for the crystal clear explanation ! 2
