I am interested in moving all my photo editing to an iPad Pro M4 13". After working as a photojournalist for 40 years I am retired and now want to just shoot with  Q2 Monochrom and M10 Monochrom and will be moving to an iPad Pro for all image processing. I respectfully do not need to consider the common suggestion to use a Mac Book vs. iPad Pro  as I was never a Mac user....just Windows using Photoshop, Photomechanic for file management and later Capture One for my images from my Leica M-D Type 262 (To be sold soon) . I know that Lightroom is most people's preference on the iPad but I am not a fan of Lightroom and never have been.

So considering that I will be mostly using Leica DNG RAW monochrome images....what is the best option? I have been using Capture One on the desktop but it does look like their mobile iOS version is much limited compared to other programs.

Thank you.

I can tell you that Lightroom works extremely well on the Ipad Pro, so when you find the app that has an interface that you like, it should be nice and smooth workflow for you. As for which, you might have to endure a 'suck it and see' approach and try them. It's a very individual thing.

Another one to look at is Affinity Photo for iPad, especially for someone familiar with Photoshop. The AP and PS controls are different but the concepts are similar. They are both pixel editors, unlike parametric editors like Lightroom. I use Affinity Photo on my MacBook Air and my wife has the IOS version on her iPad Air. Lots of online support for both.

Have a look here:
https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop.html

There just came out a new verion of GIMP 3.0 what was the best old skool Photoshop clone and it's free as always.
Gimp does not run under iPadOS or iOS, but i would under Windows OP is using on his computer.

For me, I use Capture One iPad on my iPad Air 2025. I don't see anything special to process the dng of my m11 m. it's even very practical using the cloud capture One, which allows me to resume processing on my MacBook when I return from travel. You can try it for a month with the €5.49 monthly subscription.

I have Lightroom and Capture One on my IPAD.

Capture One has the Level tool which is very important but not available on Lightroom and that's why I use Capture One for my M11-M
