Wrestling with renumbering M11p

I have been sitting here for way over an hour trying to get my M11P to label files as M1xxxxxxxx instead of L1xxxxxxxx but it will not do it.  I have tried profiles etc what am missing?  It will not do it.  Watched Leica Australia and just cannot figure it out.  Please help.  Thanks.

In camera settings (menu page 4) it doesn't have the option to edit file name? Or it won't save it for you?

I have edited it 50 times, not really but you get my point, and it will not hold.  I am sure I am missing a step somewhere, somehow but I can't figure out what it is.

I've just tried it and it works fine on my M11. Updated filename prefix is stored, and also remains after a restart.

Go into the camera menu, scroll down to camera settings, select 'edit file name', change to M10, navigate to the checkmark in the bottom right and select. You'll go back to the camera settings screen and the new filename prefix will now be visible (as M100****, as it adds an additional 0). 

If that's not working for you, then do the usual stuff, like making sure you're on the latest firmware, and that you did a reset before installing the firmware (I personally never do the reset, but others have mentioned not doing a reset can cause issues....)

You have absolutely to tick the box at the bottom right before you leave that editing menu.
