Located approx. 100 miles Southeast of Boise in the small farming community of Wendell, the 'Eagle tree', close to the Snake River, usually 'hosts' as many as 120 eagles in winter, but this year's abnormal winter has drastically reduced attendance.

I counted 8 bald eagles at 'maximum occupancy'.....lowest number ever at this time of the year.

SL / V.E. 100 - 400 @ 100mm.

I think there are 9 or maybe even 10 in the second photo.  Lovely.  In Alaska at a distance, they almost seemed like Christmas tree ornaments, with their white heads by far the most visible parts of them.
