Robinyuill Posted December 27, 2024 Share #1 Posted December 27, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi there. Quick question. Can the original monochrom camera sensor still be replaced and did they suffer corrosion? Can you still get batteries for the camera also. Got the urge to get one!! Regards to all. Dazzajl Posted December 27, 2024 Share #2 Posted December 27, 2024 Hi, No. Yes and yes. That said, most of them on the market will have had the sensor replaced and it’s very easy to check via the camera menus. They can be hard to get hold of and many people (me included) have ended up with the next model along, the 246. Which is a great camera but I’d still like to have the original Monochrom. ph0toni Posted December 27, 2024 Share #3 Posted December 27, 2024 off topic I'm looking for a M8M or M9M or 246 with a corroded sensor. I would like to remove it, not replace it, to have a full spectrum. Thanks Toni Possibly in Europe

Philip. 😇 Probably for my "dream" the best on the market is a 246 at €3500 + €1000 to remove the IR / UV cut filter

Leica no longer changes it under warranty, but there are companies like Kolari and in Europe that can replace the filter glued on the sensor (I think a BG39 Schott) with a more resistant one (maybe a BG42)

Your profile gear list shows both the Monochrom and the M9P. Corrosion potential applied to each.
