Einst_Stein Posted December 15, 2024 Share #1 Posted December 15, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have TL 11-23mm (16~35mm/eq), but I found I actually used it mostly in the 16~23mm (24~35mm/eq) range. The super wide is not quite useful as I thought it would be. The usage is almost always in shooting architecture inside, sometimes in shooting tall architecture when I cannot stand far enough. Do you use super wide angle lenses? when?

spydrxx Posted December 15, 2024 Share #3 Posted December 15, 2024 Very infrequently, usually for landscape shots when I can't adequately distance myself from my subject.

Do you use super wide angle lenses? when? Shooting in layers/framing, eg a church though a gate, an event through layers of people doing something interesting. Just using it to capture a wide scene is often dull unless there is a marked contrast in colour/tone/drama.

Sound a universal good advice for any photography.
Einst_Stein Posted December 16, 2024 Author Share #6 Posted December 16, 2024 I an actually comparing Laowa 12-24mm zoom vs. Leica 11-23mm or Fujifilm 10-24mm or the similar, hoping to consolidate to the 12-24mm zoom. I think I am settling on 12-24mm zoom, though it does not have AF.
