TL3 Posted December 5, 2024 Share #1 Â Posted December 5, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone, I shoot with a Leicaflex SL2 and an R to L adapter on my CL. Â Managed to scoop up what appears to be a 3-cam 1979 SN Leica R 60 mm 2.8, and it also came with 2 macro adapters which appear to be 14198 and 14256. The camera shop staff didn't really do the best job of explaining the difference between the adapter; they actually had both adapters connected together. Â My question are which adapter(s) can be used with the Leicaflex SL2, and which can be used with the R to L adapter which has ROM contacts? Â Which adapter is optimal for each camera? Â And is there any point to combine with adapters?
Advertisement Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Hi TL3, Take a look here Leica R 60mm 2.8 Macro Adapter Compatibility Questions. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
a.noctilux Posted December 5, 2024 Share #2  Posted December 5, 2024 Two generations of adapter for the same 60mm lens. 14198 can be used mounted on the 60mm on your Leicaflex SL2. Before mounting you need to set the lens&adapter aperture to minimum (22) ... 14256 is the same but intended to be used on more recent Leica R (R4/5/6/R-E). I don't know if either is suitable for use with ROM lenses. I'd try the 14256 on R to L adapter. Maybe the 60mm you have is not ROM type, so ROM R to L adapter can not be used full feature.
TL3 Posted December 6, 2024 Author Share #3 Â Posted December 6, 2024 Yes my 60 mm is not ROM, I believe 3 cam. Â So no risk of damaging the R to L ROM contacts with the 14256?
