(How) do you use filter for Leica Rangefinder in monochrome photography

Digital Color converted monochrome is easy, I don’t need contrast filter, even If I want, I can use monochrome mode display to tell how it works. I guess this should work with digital monochrome camera too. But I give up contrast filtering on rangefinder film camera.

What do you do?

With a monochrome sensor I still use colour filters, there is no other way to change to which grey value the colour is converted.

On a colour sensor the only filter I (sometimes) use is a polariser, to lower haze and take out reflections (both for colour and B&W photography). The effect of most other filters when converting a colour image to B&W can be achieved by the colour mixer in the raw converter.
