I hope that one day, Leica will manufacture a Collapsable lens for the Leica Q, just like the old Summicron! the lens could expended and collapsed manually to save battery and the camera could easily fit in the back pocket!.

The Q 3 with the 45 mm lens is beautiful but would be so much better if the lens could collapse!!.

Maybe, but totally impossible without a complete redesign; the lens, shutter and sensor of all cameras in the Q series have been conceived as one integrated unit. The rest of the camera has been built around that unit.

Those collapsibles move the whole lens in and out, and in uncollapsed form have a good space between rear element and sensor/film. Here is a teardown of the Q2 which, though not entirely clear, shows little room between the rear element and the sensor. This (half way down the page) is the only section I have seen of the lens itself, and it looks like a schematic, not to scale - but there does not look like much space for the lens itself to compress.
