After I upgraded the firmware of my Q3/28 to ver. 2.05 the digital zoom is not working anymore.

On the display I can see the zoom frame, but when I release the shutter the display shows the whole picture, not the zoomed section.

Strange is that in play mode the zoom frame is shown on the display (see attachment).

Is there a bug in firmware 2.05 or am I doing something wrong? Before the firmware upgrade everything was fine.

Thanks for advice in advance

I'm not sure I understand the problem.

The zoomed-in image is never shown; it always shows only the frame overlaid on the full image.

There are previous forum threads complaining that the Q series does not show the zoomed-in image; it is probably the feature that people would most like to be added in future firmware.

I'm sorry if I have misunderstood.

if you shoot dng + jpg the preview shows the cropped image (the jpg) but never "live" before you take the picture or while looking trough the EVF. That is indeed a feature I and many others want Leica to implement as shooting anything other than 28 and 35mm with the crop lines is just not user friendly.

If they have to insist on the "rangefinder experience" just crop one step in every time you press the crop-button. So 35 lines on 28 frame, 50 lines with 35 frame, 75 lines with 50 frame and 90 lines with 75 frame. This way the bottom Av, Tv, ISO value and exposure bar wouldn't be in the way of the image as well. You retain the design language and give people sort of what they've been asking for since May 2023.
