Great little camera which I hesitated initially when one became available after reading so many reviews.

What I found was just using the camera convinced me how great it was.

Nice and easy to go between then SL3 , M11-P, Q3 43 as the menu system are all very similar .

Images are certainly worthy of the Leica name.  The little flash is an added bonus  for fill work something Ive always wanted.

DNG images and the Leica APP is a joy to use with it like it is with my other cameras.

Set it up the way you want to it's a no brainer for a 'carry always ' camera.

Nice job Leica.

I enjoy mine very much. It's a very capable small camera with accurate colour reproduction. The high ISO performance isn't great so I try not to shoot over ISO 800 unless absolutely necessary. It's my carry everywhere camera.

Very nice shots ! What software do you use to post-process?

Thank you. I use Adobe Camera Raw which is almost identical to the adjustments in Lightroom, then I finish in Photoshop.

PanaLeica lenses and tweaked by Leica in-camera image processing are often good for SOOC without odd "film" presents.

I had old Panasonic tiny P&S with fast zoom and I took this one as digital camera with me not so long time ago. Images weren't ideal, yet more natural than from phones.

Now I have X2 and SOOC images are one of the best.

Well, I never liked FujiFilm film colors, while Leica and Canon are more on the Kodak Gold side :)

Just like you and many here, I had long time with EOS film and digital, plus Ls. I still miss 5D/50L, it was SOOC images capable kit, not too heavy, but weren't build to lasts in daily use.

Any camera with larger than in phones sensor and bigger lens will surpass any phone. By how clear image looks 1:1. Phones surpassed cameras for SOOC, but results are mushy in the closer view.

To me M43 sensors are closest proximity to 135mm color films. By the way how they looks on the large screen.

Two things I would search in your case. Is this camera any good with dust or it is same old, dusty story. And is it really works with mobile phones for image transfer.

To be honest I haven't seen camera which isn't quirky with phones for it.

If you are going to push images from camera to the phone and to others phones to view, this camera has enough IQ.

As for street photography, I never seen good results from cameras like this. But who knows, manual controls are good as reminders. If you could see this close (I can't anymore without switching to reading glasses). Nor analog dials do any good in the low light.

Zoom... I went with 5D MKII and 24-105 L few weeks ago. I don't know... zoom is not fast enough as primes on the street. But at least in electronically controlled zooms you could select on focal length and it will not bulge out as with 24-105L. This is why I prefer 16-35 L, but my back can't handle it for long anymore.

Family thing is more practical with zooms.

I think here is really no any other cameras left like D-lux 8 to buy new. And never were as nice looking...

This makes me wonder if rumors about OM new retro camera might become reality.

But who knows, they might push another SLR like, instead of realizing where is the market for PenF digital II.

Received my Dlux 8 yesterday. Very beautiful piece of gear. Now I need to learn and configure for my use but seems very good

Image transfer with mobile phone is really reliable, almost fast. It works very well

I agree completely. I've had several versions of the Leica D-Lux and a couple of the Panasonic versions of the same cameras. The D-Lux 8 gives me the most natural colours I've seen yet. I rarely have to make adjustments other than lighter or darker.

By the way, your website images are superb!
