I found one for sale and it says it has "fungal markings to top plate."  It looks like the paint is just discolored a bit.  Anybody know anymore about what that may mean?

Is the one you're looking at black or chrome? Unless it is a special edition it won't be paint. Some of the TTLs, along with some of the other M bodies around the same era, have some bubbling in the zinc coating. If you can post a picture that would help, though of course nothing cosmetic will affect the operation of the camera.

it's black. Pic attached.  The rest of it looks beyond stellar.  Has the plastic on the bottom, all original packaging, manuals.  Looks like it's been on a shelf.

That doesn't look like the typical bubbling. I might wonder about the storage conditions, and what the camera looks like under the top plate.

The M6 used a black chrome finish. I've seen some with a mottled appearance, but haven't heard of the cause. I have some black-chrome Leicas and none show anything like this, so it could be something like marks from fungus. I'd also be concerned about the internal condition. It may be fine, but I'd plan on a good CLA to be sure.
