Time is fine but unable to change date

I purchased a used Q2 and have been enjoying it very much. I have used the FOTOS app on my iPhone and have it set to automatically update date and time on the camera when connected. The time is correct but all of the photos I have taken are dated February of 2019. I have gone in manually to fix it but when I press the center of the toggle to confirm, it takes me back out to the menu and back to February of 2019. If I change the date and wait a few seconds before hitting confirm with the center toggle switch, I can see it change from my entry back to 2019. Am I missing something simple or what? I would think both the date and time would be screwed up or both would be correct, but not correct time and consistently incorrect dating. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

what happens if you set date/time on camera and set it to *not* update via phone?

I connected the phone and the camera and disabled the time and date update on the app. No change. Center toggle does not confirm date selection just takes me back to the previous menu. Thank you.

why not disconnect the phonr´e and usde the normal menu setting on the camera, as most of us do? This is not something that one needs to do often!😃

Do you leave the main battery in the camera when not using it? If the internal battery is not fully charged then the camera will lose settings. Leave the main battery in the camera. Charge it using the cable, and ignore Fotos for now as it just adds an unnecessary step.

I leave the main battery in all the time. Only out to charge then right back in.

I would gladly change the date manually but the camera will not let me. I set it, hit the center toggle to confirm, it does not confirm, takes me back out to do it all over again. And again, ….   I have even tried a camera reset, pressing any button other than the toggle, etc. The weird thing is the time is absolutely fine. I can set it the way I should be able to set the date. The camera wants to live in February of 2019.
