'What,' I hear you say, 'has this got to do with Leicas?'  Well, the NSU Fox was the motorcycle used by Walther Benser during his exploits in Tunisia in 1951.  I thought I would see if one is available, and this one is up for sale.  The downside is that it is up for a whopping 6.800 euros!  If you do a 'youtube' search you'll find some footage of it being run and ridden.

Talking of Walther Benser, does anyone know if one of his lectures was ever filmed or recorded, perhaps in the States?

Don’t know if they ever were. I became friends with Walther after he published his book. I would see him at Photokina, and he was always fun to talk to. I had him sign his book for me.
His assistant, Walter Heun, moved from Germany to the US from Germany, and did tours in the US doing a version of his Leica show for many years. A trademark of these lectures was the use of giant projection screens. I attended one of his shows at age 16, and it inspired my pursuit of Leica photography. That was in 1972. Years later, when I was a Leica dealer, I had Walter do a Leica Akademie for my customers. Walter would also accompany the dealer schools in Wetzlar at Leica. We became good friends for many years.
