It doesn’t 100% happen everytime, kind of random. It doesn’t occur within couple of times, sometimes it takes like 10-20 cycles or the whole week. Some 11-P users, including i are having this situation. If your camera is 11-P and this bug doesn’t bug you.Hope it never will.
I use iphone 15 pro with ios 18.3.1 with updated FOTOS app.

Here the another user has the same problem.

I have a M11-P too. I will try further.

Do You have CR on? Do You download both, DNG and JPG?

Yes i have CR on.I mostly take JPEG for instant online share, lesser capacity is an advantage over DNG.I take JPEG with L size.Sometimes i take DNG for further retouch. But not many, around 30 DNGs which were saved in internal memory. Now i have none.

So i download JPEG only for now.

I don´t understand this, sorry. I wanted to know if you always download all DNG and all JPG or just a few selected ones?

HI There Tuan

clearly is a bug - I wonder what happens if you change the setting to SD = Int (ie DNG+ JPG on both) - does it still happen?

The bug occurs randomly, never on 1st try.I don’t think the problem from file format or where it’s stored.

In the other hand,i store JPEG on SD because downloading files using card reader is much faster.I only download few selected photos via FOTOS because it’s convenient.

The bug happened before when i didn’t have SD.I stored both DNG+JPEG on IN.When it happens,IN memory shows 0 capacity on camara screen.Still able to access the files but unable to take anymore photo.Only way to fix = Format.

I don't use SD card. Recording only to Int.

The problem occurs during high-speed multi shooting. Possibly an error writing to the memory buffer.

Leica answered my email and confirm there is a current unknown bug and a new firmware will be released.

Here is the email:

the same thing happens on the M11-D, it flashes full when I know it wasn't.  This began after formatting with the Leica Photos app.  I formatted both the sd card and internal memory and it went away.  Relevant settings are dng only and sd card first.  It sounds like it might occur again?

Best option for now is restricting to use FOTOS.Since yours is M11-D,it might he hard.

I don’t use FOTOS app and thing seems fine for me.

I use fotos to geotag, had been all along, then when stuff filled up I had to format all storage with fotos, then it began. I now have set storage management to use so card only to record images, and will see today what happens.

A question for those experiencing this...  Are you formatting the internal memory with the fotos app before this occurs?  The corollary question is, if you format internal memory with in-camera settings only, does this happen?  Questions assume latest app version and latest firmware are in place.

I format with camera setting and on computer. It still happens if i touch Fotos. In my case,i use Fotos to download photos.

I am on lastest updated app and 2.2.0 fimware.

I want to update how my situation goes.I didnt’t touch FOTOS since the last time i replied to this topic, meaning it’s about a week.I copied photos with SD-reader and my camera didn’t get any problem.

Today i update to new firmware 2.2.1.I’ve been using FOTOS to copy files all day and i count,20 times consecutively. So far i haven’t got any problem.Camera operates smooth. However,i turn content credentials and Geotag off this time.

Still early to confirm the firmware is stable but it’s worth to update.

It's good that this bug wasn't in 1.6. Now it's gone in 2.2.1. We're all glad that nothing has changed, but Leica engineers have been working hard on this😀

I unboxed my brand new M11-P and I did RTFM but I’m concerned I may have a bum internal drive. I first set up storage management to write to the internal drive (IN+SD: DNG+JPG first on IN). After taking about two dozen test image at S-DNG/18MP I received a prompt in the viewfinder: “FULL” and on the LCD a message indicating the internal drive was full. Of course, that’s not possible. But to be sure, I selected to “format internal memory.”

After reformatting, here’s the clincher: on the top left of the LCD status screen, the text reads: “IN  1k free/“224 GB”. Lest there be any question, the manual indicates on page 26 and 27 that the “1k” is referring to “remaining storage capacity.” This is not good. I reset the camera, turned it on and off, popped the battery, and reformatted the internal drive again. Now the status screen reports “6k free/224 GB.”

So to test this, I set the camera to write L-DNG (the big files) and quickly fired off 50 frames. The status screen now reads: 1k free/224GB. My question: Is it possible that “6k” and “1k” are referring to some kind of memory buffer and not “remaining storage capacity?”

As an aside, I inserted a formatted 64GB card in the camera, made no changes to storage management, and the status screen reported: “2k free/283 GB.” The 283 obviously is a sum of the internal drive and the SD.

And finally, firmware is updated: 2.2.1

And thoughts from veteran M11 owners?

Thanks in advance for your feedback! Wondering if it’s time to box this camera up and send it back to B&H — or not.

P.S. In less than three minutes I fired off another 250 L-DNGs to the internal drive. No hiccups, and the status screen currently displays “2k free.” Is this a reference to a memory buffer or what?
