teilor Posted November 14, 2024 Share #1 Posted November 14, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I’m using the Leica SL3, and I noticed some minor scratches on the hotshoe area. When I used cameras from other brands, I don’t recall seeing scratches in that spot. Is it normal for the hotshoe to get scratched? OleBe Posted November 14, 2024 Share #3 Posted November 14, 2024 If you try to fix whatever kind of cold shoe mount equipment on it which is secured by a screw from above, like a monitor mount, it will get circles on it...

It seems like it happened when the hotshoe cover was put on. Welcome, dear visitor! You’re right. The hot shoe cover wasn’t properly attached, but I didn’t realize it was an issue for six months and kept using it. I recently noticed the problem and fixed it. It seems like I scratched it while trying to force it in.
