Thank you all and especially LarsV, Leica Dream and CP93 for your much appreciated comments.

These images were taken using a Leica M11 Monochrom with 17mm Super Helier, 24mm Elmar-M and 35mm Summicron IV lenses.  The 24mm was especially useful and the 17mm was essential when needed.  🙂

It’s great to see you posting again, Gary. I’ve missed seeing your work.

“Don’t be afraid of black blacks in your photographs” that’s what you once told me!

None of these could have been by anyone else.

Thanks, Andy.  Very kind of you.

Screens apart, there are very few true black, blacks in these images as I use Curves to raise minimum blacks to 4 or 5 to avoid Shadow Warnings and similarly set Highlights at 245.  But once there, I'll take as much as I need and occasionally I'll go to full black, but never full white after years scrambling in the darkroom.  🙂

What's more, all of these were taken in broad daylight !  The M11 Monochrom is a wonderful camera providing exceptional files but it's not a camera where I can just post the files as taken.  Ha.

we should meet for a coffee one day soon if your still around the Quays.

Gary
