Mahesh Posted November 8, 2024 Share #1 Posted November 8, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had posted this question in the topic for images but it is probably not going to be noticed. Has anyone got a cinebloom / glimmerglass / tiffen pro mist filter that they could post a picture taken with that on? I am almost about to get a steel rim reissue but then I wonder if I could do with a Q3 43 and some filters for that magic.
Advertisement Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Hi Mahesh, Take a look here Q3 43 with a diffusion filter. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ruskkyle Posted November 8, 2024 Share #2 Posted November 8, 2024 Have a look at that guy Cammackey on youtube. From the thumbnails it looks like he uses a Polar Pro Everyday filter.
Segal Posted November 8, 2024 Share #3 Posted November 8, 2024 I took some pictures with the Polar Pro Everyday filter. Overall, I loved it on Sony A7CR + 40mm to take that digital edge off, but I feel it's a bit too strong on Leica Q3 43. Welcome, dear visitor! Segal Posted November 9, 2024 Share #7 Posted November 9, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I went for a walk and took some pictures with the Polar Pro Everyday filter. I think it works better during the day; certainly gives that dreamy vibe without blooming highlights into oblivion. Welcome, dear visitor! Paul W Posted November 29, 2024 Share #10 Posted November 29, 2024 Hi ruskkyle. Can you pls tell me whether the Leica Q3 (-28) square hood fits over the Polar Pro Everyday filter? And do you feel the + circ pol component is significantly more useful to you compared with a (eg cinebloom) mist filter alone? Thank you.

If you get the 49mm version as I did (rather than a larger version via step-up ring) then of course it will be usable with the standard hood. It can be a little tricky to access the edge of the filter to turn it without getting fingerprints on the glass though.. As for your second question, I’ve never owned a straight diffusion filter before so can’t really comment. But I do really like this combination, yes. You can dial in the amount of polarisation as much or as little as you want really.

Dr. G Posted December 3, 2024 Share #13 Posted December 3, 2024 Do you find that the Everyday Filter imparts a color cast on your images or shifts the tonal balance overall?
ruskkyle Posted December 3, 2024 Share #14 Posted December 3, 2024 I haven’t noticed any, but will do some testing and report back.

Ok, no prizes for creativity but here is the same scene, containing natural and artificial light, photographed at the exact same settings. I evened out exposure in post to allow for light loss in the first image. With Polar Pro Everyday filter Welcome, dear visitor!
