Amal Posted November 7, 2024 Share #1 Â Posted November 7, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, just got my SL2S camera this week and when trying to edit the MOV files it show "media offline" in Devinci (iMac update to newest release). the iMac itself can't open it as well (using QuickTime). only app that can is VLC, but it doesn't help me. I have noticed MOV files without L log work fine because its h265. the file I am trying to run is h264 high L5.1 (what leica produce). Any idea? OTOH installing VLC usually brings a relevant codec with it. I first used video from the SL2-S in Davinci on a PC 3-4 years ago and I recall I had a similar problem - but can't remember exactly how I solved it! There should be no need to go through a video converter - Davinci opens SL2-S .mov files with L-Log with no problem on my PC. Although I have a MacBook, I don't have DaVinci on it, but I'll see if a SL2-S video clip will open in Quicktime. Photoworks Posted November 8, 2024 Share #4 Â Posted November 8, 2024 Davinci "Media Offline" is when you have linked the media from a folder. and later change the folder location or drive. You would have to use the find offline files and relink in Davinci. Â h.264 files are very common and should work just fine. Older computers have difficulty using h.265 is they don't have the encoder in the processor and probably best to make a proxy.
Archiver Posted November 8, 2024 Share #5 Â Posted November 8, 2024 I'm just throwing something out here, but are you using the free version of Davinci, and the 10bit 422 MOV files from the SL2S? The free version of Davinci doesn't handle 10bit 422 files, or at least, it didn't when I tried it a few years ago. The paid version of Davinci does, though. Jonathan Levin Posted November 8, 2024 Share #7  Posted November 8, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) What OS are you on? Recent IMac? By Chance do you have a current version of Final Cut or Premier to test that? Check Software Update for any Pro App updates. If you right click on mov file and select Open With… will Quicktime open it?

Yes I am using the free version :-( i guess this is the problem. just opened in FCP and it was fine, so will use it for a while until I decide if I should go pro with devinci. before I was using DNG Raw and it was fine on the free version. Need to get use to log files... thank you all!
