Advertisement Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Hi Learner, Take a look here Leica Photo Contest. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
hunz Posted January 2, 2008 Share #2 Â Posted January 2, 2008 I had a peep. And then had a look at the Appl form on Leica's website. Not sure about three things: Â 1. the Ces-Show.com article states "a single photograph or photo story consisting of minimum 8 up to 12 pictures." whereas the leica appl form only states "a photo series consisting of 8 up to a maximum of 12 pictures" Â > does anyone know if the single photo entry is still applicable? Â 2. I am assuming digital photography is allowed? Â 3. In the entry conditions it states.. "The photos I am entering are neither photomontage nor have been manipulated by digital or other means" Â > how does this apply to conversion of RAW files and 'tweaks' like colour (or even conversions to B&W) and cloning out ot sensor dust spots?? Â Any ideas, suggestions or thoughts on the above would be appreciated
ndjambrose Posted January 2, 2008 Share #3 Â Posted January 2, 2008 ..."Â > does anyone know if the single photo entry is still applicable? Â Â It's not that kind of competition. If you're not familiar with the Oscar Barnack Award then I recommend a brief trawl through Google. It's intended to award and support serious photojournalism projects, and attracts entrants from the major agencies. Previous winners include Paolo Pellegrin and Bruce Gilden, for example. Entry is restricted to professional photojournalists.

I guess they want to secure serious submissions, and filter out the rest. Â Cheers, Wilfredo Benitez-Rivera Photography
DTD Posted January 3, 2008 Share #5  Posted January 3, 2008 I entered last year – needless to say I didn't win, but it was a good exercise. The kind of digital manipulation mentioned would be allowed. I think you wouldn't have to actually earn all your pennies from photography to enter.
