Hi Everyone,

I purchased a Summaron 35mm f2.8 8 element a few weeks ago and have since shot two rolls. All of the images came out fine, but recently I started noticing a noise when flipping the lens around, one that sounded like glass moving around. There is no noise when I gentle shake the lens and only occurs when the lens is turned to be facing down or the other way around. I don't recall if the lens had this issue when I first received it, and since I don't have a digital camera, there's no quick way for me to test if the lens is still functioning normally at the moment.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced similar issues with this particular lens or other vintage lenses, and if I can get some advice on how concerned I should be with this issue.

Lastly here is a picture that I took using the lens:

Welcome here.

I use Summaron 35mm lenses (2.8/35, 3.5/35 LTM) for many years, very nice lenses without any rattle.

In your shoes, I'd test with film and your present M if the trouble is  in results.

Test mainly at f/2.8 f/4, maybe it's fine for use or to real life photography.

note:

Summaron has only 6 elements from Wiki (link)
