Dr. G Posted October 31, 2024 Share #1 Posted October 31, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just received my X3 transmitter this week. It's is a nice little unit. On the Q3 43 it is much more reliable with "Legacy Hotshoe" in the x3 menu set to "on." Without it on there were times that the shutter wouldn't release. This was with the Q3 43 in TTL mode and using the Godox Lux Master.

That's a nice result, and I'm looking forward to using it. Aside from packing compact and fitting directly to the strobe (no speedring needed) they are remarkably cheap! How far was the soft box from the subject? Did you use the diffuser and/or grid? Edited November 1, 2024 by LocalHero1953

I am hand holding the lux master in both instances, left hand above my head to the left. So id say 3-5 feet. I use a cane and drilled the handle to hold the lux master if needed. I have lux master, ad 100, ad 200, ad 300. The ad 100 is a little better with the softbox setup but way less portable Welcome, dear visitor! MCINFANTRY Posted November 1, 2024 Share #11 Posted November 1, 2024 The lux master, a table top tripod and ball head, the reflector and softbox, spare battery, filters, and the camera will fit in the expandable sling bag. The ad100 and modifier will not, and i just spent oct10 to 11-1 in Italy carrying it every day Welcome, dear visitor! Dr. G Posted November 1, 2024 Author Share #12 Posted November 1, 2024 Apparently the Lux master will also fit into the S2 bowens adapter if you wanted to use a larger modifier. I hd read something about it, but can't seem to locate it now. But for a collapsible beauty dish with a handle on the S2 it could also be a portable, but larger, option.

Makkuro Posted November 3, 2024 Share #17 Posted November 3, 2024 (edited) Sorry if I ended up hijacking the thread... was anyone able to get good results at the 1/2000 sec flash sync speed via remote flashes? Using the X3 trigger or otherwise? I can't get mine to work on either our Profoto or GodOx system... Exposure looks proper at 1/1000 but at 1/2000 I lost at least 3 stops of light. It's like the flash fires AFTER the shutter has closed. If I mount the flash on-camera (without using remote trigger), exposure instantly back to normal. Ps. Everything is set to manual - aperture F2.0, shutter 1/2000, ISO 50, flash 1/1. Manual focus. Test photos taken in pitch-dark room so no ambient lights affecting perceived exposure from changes in shutter speed. Given all settings the same, 1/1000 and 1/500 has minimal differences (maybe 1/3 stop?) and 1/500 vs 1/250 has identical exposure. It's only when I go to 1/2000 I suddenly lose several stops of light. Thanks in advance!! glengrant Posted November 3, 2024 Share #18 Posted November 3, 2024 Hello, can you please confirm that the X3 is working in TTL with Q3? Just to be sure before I order one. I read it’s not working with M11. Thanks! Peter

I wonder if the X3 will work in TTL mode with older digital Leica's? Can't seem to find any info online since the Leica version was just released and I've been looking to get one for my M9-P. The only info I've found so far is here, but it's kind of inconclusive (https://erickoke.wordpress.com/2024/06/04/godox-lux-master-erickphoto/) "I am still waiting for full compatibility to Leica cameras but at the time of writing, the Leica Q and SL function great with the XPRO II Leica version, just wish they had the X3 for Leica and as said before was compatible with the whole line of Leica cameras such as the M9, M240, etc."
