Hello all!

Firstly I want to thank everyone for being such a valuable resource to the Leica community!

I have recently picked up an M11, and have been using it with a Thypoc 50 1.4 & Voigtlander Ultron F2, I’ve discovered that my rangefinder window will continue to move past 0.7 m on both lenses, which I was pretty sure isn’t possible for the Leica M system. The “in focus” image in the RF window is not actually in focus once the distance drops below .7m, but there is still movement which is pretty off putting. Anyone have any clue why this would be happening?

Yes, my M11-D goes down to 0.58m with the Voigtlander 50 f/3.5 APO.

You measured from the sensor plane? Or is it the reading of the distance scale on the lens or the gap between front lens and subject?

With some Leica lenses you can feel when you pass the 0.7m point as a warning.

I just find them annoying because all the rangefinders I've used focus below 0.7m to varying degrees, so the detent just gets in the way. I guess one could make the argument that the detent/bump at 0.7m is a warning you're approaching the end of the useful range of the optical finder.
