Artichoke Posted January 1, 2008 Author Share #5 Posted January 1, 2008 I appreciate your taking the time to comment this orchid is a hybrid from three orchids that was developed in 1969 and became known as the smiling orchid when seen at its printing size (original on my pbase site) the flowers are very sharp ...this scored >270 from NikSharpenerPro without any presharpening which is one of the higher values I have gotten for a floral I think my 50 Summilux ASPH does a fabulous job with isolating subject from background & I favor it for such photographs when I can get the subject in frame this was hand held & done with ambient light btw there are two bees in this photograph, though one is hiding a behind one of the flowers to the upper left ...it is good to see bees so late in the year best wishes in the New Year for you all!
