I use it constantly along with my 50 lux asph and 75 apo and they are a Karbe match made in heaven. Trust me, it is the one you want. Welcome, dear visitor! Im leaning towards the 35FLE just don't know which version. I like the appearance of the FLE1 with the square hood. and second hand price is very attractive. Why silver lens? I like black this time around
mekener Posted November 1, 2024 Share #23  Posted November 1, 2024   After I got the lux 50 I felt like having something wider so I got the elmarit 2.8, both latest versions. I really love the 28, so small and sharp. The colors are also wonderful in my opinion and the distance scale is easy to use and accurate, forgiving compared to the 50 lux. This was my setup until a month ago. I went to London and took with me two Voigtlander lenses I didn't use anymore: 35 1.4 classic and the 50 1.2(a great lens in my opinion if you don't have a fixation for the focus tab and slightly large size). I part exchanged the two and bought a 21 super elmar 21 3.4. The 21mm is almost double the size of the 28mm but f5.6, f8 set to infinity the m11 becomes a point and shoot and the shots look great(again in my opinion, especially in bnw). I also got a Voigtlander 21mm viewfinder. I'm pretty happy with it over the visoflex2.   Now if I'm going to nature trips or daily hikes I take the 50 and the 21mm. If I go on daily walks or visiting other cities I take the 50 and the 28mm. I don't take all three lenses with me because it gets me thinking too much about which lens to use, I find that stressful. Maybe a 24mm was a better idea to begin with, I'm not sure... It may be best to rent lenses before making purchases to be honest. I got to thinking that too much equipment leads to some discomfort. Here's one of my favorite photos from the trip to London. I had the 50lux on the camera and the 21mm in the bag but I didn't think twice about changing lenses at the moment. I was sitting on the table, having a beer after a nice long walk. The 50 lux looks plenty wide enough for me...  Welcome, dear visitor! Marley Posted November 2, 2024 Author Share #24  Posted November 2, 2024 I plan to carry a backup lens and just think what I would shoot for the day and leave the other at the hotel. Or maybe just put it in the bag if it's small and light anyway. For what it's worth, I'll be going to Switzerland for our next trip. But I don't do much landscapes. 21 super Elmer looks interesting but for the way I shoot I think its too wide. It's still a toss up between the 35FLE and 28 elmarit at the moment. Thank you all for the wonderful recommendations!
