Pieter12 Posted October 24, 2024 Share #1 Posted October 24, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone use the lens cases, well more like a bag, that come with Leica lenses? And how do you use them?
Advertisement Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 Hi Pieter12, Take a look here Lens cases. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
John McMaster Posted October 25, 2024 Share #2 Posted October 25, 2024 Mine live in the box the lens came in 😉 I used them once, when moving half way around the world, but otherwise do not use them... john

And how do you use them? Yes. And the cases that come with Canon and Fuji lenses as well. I travel with a variety of hard cases with foam (Rimowa/Pelican) and soft cases like think tank. Each lens stays in the bag and then goes in the case. Sometimes I pack things next to each other and this prevents them from grinding against each other. Also keeps them safe if a lens cap falls off, etc. And hopefully holds them together when the TSA starts fondling them. I've got some of the Canon pouches that are at least 20 years old now. davidmknoble Posted October 31, 2024 Share #5 Posted October 31, 2024 Sometimes I have to pack the lenses next to each other or bodies, and I use them to keep them protected enough. Worth keeping, IMHO, but I use them less…. Same for SL lenses BTW.
MacSpikes Posted November 26, 2024 Share #6 Posted November 26, 2024 Absolutely. I had some custom stickers made with the focal length and the aperture on them. These stickers go on the rear lens cap and with the lenses face down in their pouches I can easily pick the right lens.
