Will bumpy off roading damage the IS?

Here’s a question for the group: This time of year I take my kiddo for a very bumpy hayride on a pretty rutted road.  We don’t get going too fast but there are some pretty good bumps, and it’s constant jiggle.  Would that damage the IS on an Sl2-S?  I read somewhere that the IS should be off in these situations to prevent damage.

I did it last year without harm but wondering if it was an example of better to be lucky than good,

So far so good after 1000s of kms on rough backroads.

It should be OK, I never had an IBIS broken in Landrovers taken to the limit but it might be a good idea to make sure that the camera is switched off.
