Advertisement Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Hi luetz, Take a look here Long Exposure landscape images and techniques on Q3. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Miltz Posted October 19, 2024 Share #2 Â Posted October 19, 2024 There is no set-up to share. The Q is like any other high end digital camera. They all work the same. Watch some YouTube videos on landscape photography and apply them to the Q.

Have either a custom profile or set up a favourites menus so you have easy access to the following: Self timer to 2 seconds Turn off OIS Fix ISO to 100 (not auto) Thats it for the Q. But, if you don’t want to use ND filters in daylight you won’t be taking any long exposures images. Only in dim light or night you will be able to. Only other option is averaging tonnes (10+) images in photoshop and creating a long exposure effect. This is laborious though and introduces alignment issues. Why don’t you want to use an ND filter?  edit - I’ll add one thing to this, I find using a magmatic finger system for the Q a joy, I use Urth, can’t see any difference in IQ. It allows me to use the urth lens cap too which is far quicker and more convenient than the large Leica one and I can then swap out CPL and nd filters within 5 seconds.  Edited October 19, 2024 by JTLeica

F11 is all I’d want to go to but ideally f8 b for best resolution. Can average out a few f8 images for a longer exposure effect if needed

The Q2 is not as good as the M11 at handling the noise at that sort of ISO (ISO 5,000 on a M11 feels about the same as 1,600 on a Q2 for me) but it’s usually good enough and, if not, a light noise reduction process sorts it out.
