Martin Petersen Posted October 17, 2024 Share #1 Posted October 17, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Exposure in highlight-areas: The first photo (with the flag hanging loosely down) is taken with an iPhone. The next (wind is unfolding flag) with a Leica D-Lux 6 in "P-mode"). On the iPhone-shot the clouds and the sky are much better, much more distinctly drawn. How can I make the Leica shoot better highlights?
Advertisement Posted October 17, 2024 Posted October 17, 2024 Hi Martin Petersen, Take a look here Highlight exposure not distinct enough. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted October 19, 2024 Share #2 Posted October 19, 2024 While we can’t see the images, you are comparing a 10 year old camera with (probably) a modern iPhone. The latter is a computer in your pocket that does a huge amount of processing on the shot in milliseconds. Most shots from an iPhone are in a subtle HD. I don’t think that a D Lux 6 in P-mode is capable of producing an image out of the camera that is comparable to one from a modern iPhone.
jaapv Posted October 19, 2024 Share #3 Posted October 19, 2024 Actually a modern iPhone will outperform nearly any current camera in extreme low light shots through exposure stacking.
