etxeba Posted October 16, 2024 Share #1 Posted October 16, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can someone confirm if Sigma i series lenses with aperture ring like 45mm f/2.8 or 24mm f/3.5 are fully compatible with the Leica TL2? Some people said the manual aperture ring is not working, other said it's working correctly... I read something about battery drain... My main concern is to be able to use the lens with the aperture ring (not on the lens A mode and setting it on the camera) Many thanks!!!
Advertisement Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 Hi etxeba, Take a look here Leica TL2 and Sigma i series compatibility. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
justru49 Posted October 16, 2024 Share #2 Posted October 16, 2024 I have the 45/2.8 with my TL2 and the aperture ring does not work. Aperture adjustment only on the camera body. The ring at the lens may set on any aperture, it is not relevant for the body
etxeba Posted October 16, 2024 Author Share #3 Posted October 16, 2024 OK, so bad news for me... Thanks!
Gregm61 Posted October 16, 2024 Share #4 Posted October 16, 2024 I just purchased the 90mm f2.8 DG DN Sigma to use with my CL and was very pleased to see the aperture ring fully active.
Guytou Posted October 16, 2024 Share #5 Posted October 16, 2024 I don't know about the TL2, but my Sigma Macro Art 105/2,8 has its aperture ring fully functional on the CL. Guytou
etxeba Posted October 16, 2024 Author Share #6 Posted October 16, 2024 It seems that the aperture ring works on CL but not in TL2... Firmware issues¿?
Gregm61 Posted October 17, 2024 Share #7 Posted October 17, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Having played around with the 90mm f2.8 DG DN on the CL, the lens is beautifully made, as is the 16mm f1.4 (with no manual aperture ring)… The “A” (auto) aperture position on the 90 is not something you can “lock down”; I’ve pulled the lens from my bag a couple of times where the switch has move between the “A” and manual f22 setting, and I find myself glancing at the AF/MF switch to make certain it’s where I want it to be. The camera menu option for focus with the 90 mounted is single or continuous AF only. If one wants to go to full-time manual focus only with the 90 you have to use the AF/MF switch on the lens. There’s enough handling differences between these DG DN lenses and the Leica TL lenses (of which I own all) it gets your attention, in not necessarily a good way.
