David Wien Posted October 9, 2024 Share #1 Posted October 9, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Now that there is a Q3 43mm, the threads of photos seem to get a little swamped. Could these be separated out, so that those of us with „older“ Q models and who are not so fixated on the mechanics of Q3 43mm filters, etc, can see the wood for the trees? Thank you! Advertisement Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Hi David Wien, Take a look here Separating the image threads from the camera technical threads.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Le Chef Posted October 9, 2024 Share #2 Posted October 9, 2024 (edited) They already are: Q, Q2, Q2M, Q3, Q3 43. If you’re referring to the mechanics they are all substantially the same, so maybe on a pinheaded there are differences, but otherwise no. When someone posts about OIS noise on a Q343 it’s the same mechanism as the original Q, so why create a false differentiation? Maybe new owners should search threads before repeating questions that have been asked and answered many times before. David Wien Posted October 9, 2024 Author Share #3 Posted October 9, 2024 I mean, a mechanism to list all the Q, Q2, Q2M, Q3, Q3 43 photo threads. and another to list all the Q, Q2, Q2M, Q3, Q3 43 "problem" threads. David

Agree, but the "Search Engine" for this Forum requires a lot of repeat searches and very "hit and miss". Perhaps more clarification on how to use it, could be helpful... David Wien Posted October 10, 2024 Author Share #5 Posted October 10, 2024 To clarify again: I do not want to list by separate camera models, but to be able to see a listing of all the photo threads, Q, Q2, Q3, etc all mixed up. I just dont want to find in the listing threads like "What filter do I use for the Qn?" or "My Qn is ticking", or "What do you pair with the Q3 43 for wide angle?" There are so many of these that the more interesting photo threads are swamped in the listing. David
Sparkassenkunde Posted October 10, 2024 Share #6 Posted October 10, 2024 I think this is a helpful idea! One of the mods could pin the photo threads for the different Q models to keep things sorted.

It shows me how imaginative users work around any disadvantages, and work with the advantages. I would just like these threads all together, so that They are not swamped by threads on topics like „What bag should I take to Phuket to hold my Qn?“. Of course, such topics have their place, but one soon tires of them. Whereas, even as a Q3 user, a new photo taken with a Q 116, is always potenially of interest, and deserves to be of easier access than at present. ianforber Posted October 12, 2024 Share #8 Posted October 12, 2024 Perhaps go one further and only have two photo threads - colour and b&w. That way, we’d probably find no difference between any of the Q models at the jpeg resolution on the site, with the possible exception of the Monochrom images which do seem to have a different (better) look than conversions from a colour file.
