No it doesn’t

Call them. That's what I had to do. The online system doesn't always reflect current inventory for new products.

Doesn't guarantee availability but that's how I got my camera from B&H.

Anyone had any luck on the US west coast? Everywhere I’ve been looking is just preorder or putting your name on a list. As I recently moved here, I don’t have any local contacts like I would have back in Sweden

Don't really trust major retailers like B&H or Adorama, as they get so many orders and take 3+ months to fulfill in the past.

I would call Leica dealers in Boston and Washington DC (Leaica owned stores). When the first batch of M11Ds came out and my primary dealer (Leica SF) and the big New York stroes were sold out, Boston and DC both had inventory.

I have had good luck with a small authorized dealer in the US (non-Leica owned) both for the original Q3 and Q3 43.  My local store in California (OC Camera) was able to get the Q3 and Q3 43 within days of adding my name to their reservation list.  I had ordered the Q3 from B&H a week after release and it was still on backorder a couple of months later.

Last time I checked two stores in Finland both had stock (Rajala and Kameraliike). I was planning to do a trade-in with Rajala for my M11 but last week decided to order directly from Leica Austria (Vienna store) - they already had stock and ship across the EU. I wanted to avoid the same situation I have with the SL3 (ordered from a Finnish store and I still don't have it). Ironically those two stores both got stock the next day after I had placed the order 😄

My Q43 arrived yesterday.

I recall ordering some Finnish housewares (probably Arabia china or Iittala glass) from a store in Finland decades ago. I sent them a letter, and they replied with a quote for the housewares and the shipping charges. As for the import duty, the letter read "Every effort will be made to defraud the United States government of its import duties." I wondered if that had something to do with the war in Vietnam.

I would also consider ordering from Europe where there appears to be plenty of supply. It's $500 cheaper pre-tax which more than covers the $125 (approx) shipping.

Erik

I honestly hadn’t considered that, as most EU online stores carrying Leica don’t ship to Sweden even. Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll do some research and see if I can find willing to deal with the hassle.

Reddotcameras in the UK definitely does ship. They are currently out of stock but when I asked they said it would cost £125. They only accept bank wire for overeseas shipments though.

Foto Henny Hoogeven in Lisse Netherlands can ship to anywhere in US, for EUR 5550, shipping included. In todya's FX it's only USD 6100. Even you add another 20% tariff it's just 7300. Still better than buying in the States for 6900+tax.

And I got only USD 28 customs bill for that.  So in total I paid less than USD 6200 :)

Much better than deal than UK's.

In addition to the EU dealers mentioned here, you can try calling or going into Leica LA or SF directly.  I was told by my LA salesperson that they received a lot more stock than normal for a Laurance camera (80+), had a bunch put on hold, and some chose not to pick up.  I was able to pick one of these up a couple of days ago.
