haelio Posted October 4, 2024 Share #1 Posted October 4, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I ordered this item and received it, but saw via Reddit that they have been recalled (link). Did anyone else receive one? The reason for the recall is because -- in a shocking oversight -- removal of the SD card requires the removal of the case, which in turn requires detaching all straps since the openings for the strap lugs are a closed loop. I got in touch with my seller and they are sending a return label. So if you do receive yours as well, be aware that Leica will be re-issuing an updated version of the case. It's a shame as the fit and finish of this half case is excellent, the grip is well designed and covered in leather as well, and the arca swiss compatible base works a treat. Battery access also works great. Welcome, dear visitor! Did they put the Q3 43 hood design team on that one? Edited October 4, 2024 by Anbaric 1
aficionados Posted October 4, 2024 Share #3 Posted October 4, 2024 (edited) haha... so German. Sorry I couldn't help laughing. 🫠 I am curious though, is the door to the usb-c port affected? Do you have to remove the case in order to open the door to access the usb-c port? Edited October 4, 2024 by aficionados
Trankster Posted October 4, 2024 Share #4 Posted October 4, 2024 Agree that this was a poor design and noticed this on mine, My "workaround" was the PeakDesign strap connectors which allows to remove the case enough to access the SD card. I will watch for recall instructions to return mine.

No, it is a bit tight though. I can still get a fairly large Thunderbolt 4 cable plugged in so it's probably a non issue. The fit is excellent, without any play all around the edges unlike other half cases I've purchased (and returned for that reason). Hopefully this tight fit remains after the lugs are no longer fully encircled.

Kim Dahl Posted May 14 Share #7 Posted May 14 Advertisement (gone after registration) It seems like a new one has arrived. Does anyone have one and is it ok now? Would you buy it? I have the handle for one of my Q3 and have been thinking about this one for the other Q3 43 - but there are so many alternatives?
