Advertisement Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Hi erl, Take a look here Krakow - One Challenge 2008. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted May 7, 2008 Share #42 Posted May 7, 2008 Anyone sniffed out something better or more appealing? How much would a flight to the UK be?
earleygallery Posted May 7, 2008 Author Share #43 Posted May 7, 2008 Andy, Have you checked BA? From Manchester returns are £170 approx. Easyjet aren't coming up for October as yet but are most likely the cheapest option when they do.
andybarton Posted May 7, 2008 Share #44 Posted May 7, 2008 Thanks James I can't get to those prices at all, I'm afraid. Unfortunately, Manchester is via Gatwick (or some other place), so one would spend all day both ways travelling. £340 for two of us is also pretty pricey. It would also involve an overnight stay in Gatwick, since there is only one flight to Krakow per day, and that's early am. I will wait until Easyjet turn up, then decide. earleygallery Posted May 7, 2008 Author Share #45 Posted May 7, 2008 Ryanair Lpool - Krakow ? According to the website they fly to Krakow (not Katowice). Also, bear in mind that prices in Krakow for accom & food are (or were when I visited) much much cheaper than other European cities.
andybarton Posted May 7, 2008 Share #46 Posted May 7, 2008 As someone said on Monday "I'd rather walk than take RyanAir again" Once bitten, and all that... never, ever again. Easyjet will be fine - we just have to be patient! (I do like to have these things booked up though, I will admit. I like the certainty of knowing everything is in place.) A lastminute.com man I am not (Also bear in mind that certain members of my party have "standards" with regards to accommodation. I doubt we will end up in the same hostel as Erl, for example These jaunts for the Challenges, are counted as part of our annual holidays too)
spylaw4 Posted May 7, 2008 Share #47 Posted May 7, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am flying out by Central Wings from LGW - leaves at 1020. The return from KRK is quite early - 0820 or thereabouts. So I am returning by BA departing at 1140. I'm staying at the Hotel Amber which gets good Trip Advisor comments. If you don't mind the early start on the return leg a LGW - KRK return is currently £96 Like Andy I like to have things booked as early as possible and I am also prepared to pay a little bit more to get good accomodation. earleygallery Posted May 7, 2008 Author Share #48 Posted May 7, 2008 Just a simple thought. Has anyone decided or have opinions on where we meet initially, and dine after the shoot? I bet it has been posted and I missed it! (Egg on face syndrome rears it's ugly head. ) Erl, I have a places in mind for the meeting drinks and evening meal. I was hoping to get out to Krakow for a brief visit before October but that is looking unlikely now, so I need to make a few calls/emails to check that the places I visted before are OK for our weekend. Watch this space.......
andybarton Posted May 7, 2008 Share #49 Posted May 7, 2008 I'm staying at the Hotel Amber which gets good Trip Advisor comments. . That looks good. 438 PLN for a "double room +" (what that means I don't know... ) = around £100, which is what we budget for when staying in cities abroad. andybarton Posted May 13, 2008 Share #51 Posted May 13, 2008 Thanks for the "heads-up" James. £56 each (return) is more like it only down side is that it's a very late flight on the Sunday night Now to sort out "The Amber"... Edit: The Amber is full for 09/10 - 12/
