warth man Posted September 22, 2024 Share #1 Posted September 22, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I almost always use single point focusing but my Q2M can be really frustrating at times because, having used the controller to put the fp where I want it, it often jumps back to where it started or to some other point in the viewfinder screen. It can take quite a few repeated attempts before it finally stays long enough at the place I want it for me to be able to take the shot. Is there something in the menus that I might have missed or does the camera require attention?
Advertisement Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Hi warth man, Take a look here Q2M - focus point jumping around. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Le Chef Posted September 23, 2024 Share #2 Posted September 23, 2024 Set the menu to “EVF Extended” and disable “ Touch Focus”. Problem sorted.

I already had "Touch focus" disabled. I'll try "EVF extended" instead of "Auto".

"Wandering focus point" - most seem to think it happens when you inadvertently touch the screen, but I'm convinced I've seen it happen in real-time when nothing was touching the screen at all. I think It happens with the Q2, Q2M and the CL, maybe also the Q. Not aware of any solution.
