It seems that you can charge the battery in the SL3 while operating with an external power bank provided it provides a minimum of 27 watts. Has anyone tried this and are there any recommendations for a particular power bankfor the SL3?

Still  waiting for my SL3 but use one for my Q3.

Thankyou in advance for any thoughts.

Tom

what are you trying to do with it?

if you like to charge while you are using it, it does not go full charge.

when I need it all day I use the dummy battery, and a V-lock or 100w battery with USB PD.

SL3 uses more power than the SL2, but the USB charging helps quite a bit, In the studio tether shoots can provide some power from the laptop and iPad.

Hi beewee, good news for those who are still waiting. Thank you for the update.

Hi Photoworks. I wanted to be able to extend the battery life of the camera since it seems that the SL3 is power intensive. I like your idea of the dummy battery with a 100w USB PD. I will look into that upon receipt of the SL3.

Thanks guys,

Tom

I would suggest getting a few batteries, you can find them for $175-200. Much more practical.

I do use the external battery only on video shoot to power monitor at the same time.

I get 2h of video shooting on one battery, and 500-800 photos depending on usage.
