tashley Posted February 22, 2008 Share #41 Posted February 22, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just called my supplier Marrutt UK and they tell me the Ilford Galerie Gold Silk is a wholly different product and considerably superior to the Galerie Smooth Pearl, although looking superficially a bit similar and being of a similar weight. They are currently waiting for A3+ stock, so I have put a couple of boxes on order, as I had run out of Smooth Pearl in this size anyway. Wilson Hi Wilson, I've been banging off hordes of large prints on my recently acquired HP Z3100, which makes its own profiles so is good for trying out new papers where the manufacturer has yet to provide profiles. I've used several yards of both the Harman and Ilford barytas, though have yet to try the Hanny. I slightly prefer the base whiteness of the Harman, its gloss and its higher Dmax. But this preference is mild and varies almost on a print-by-print basis. The one thing that I LOVE is the SMELL of the Ilford. It's smells just like it came out of a 'real' darkroom. Mmmm... t
