Advertisement Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Hi lambroving, Take a look here Hook Norton - Brewmaster's Office. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
fotografr Posted August 28, 2006 Share #2 Posted August 28, 2006 This image really shows what the 50 ASPH is capable of producing. The bottles are crackling sharp, even through dirty glass, and the OOF textures in the next room through the small windows are the fingerprint of that lens. Cheers,
harmsr Posted September 2, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 2, 2006 William, Nice photo. I like the environment and like Brent said the 50 ASPH Lux is just unbelievable. Best, Ray
lambroving Posted September 3, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted September 3, 2006 Brent, I was really happy with this catch myself because it's not a stage set with props, but really IS the Brewmaster's Office. At least for me, it's the essence of the place. Outside the office on the far wall is the temperature chart for all the brews currently fermenting that week. The lens DOES do well through a dirty window. Ray, You are quite familiar with Portra NC, but you should try the 400 VC with your 50 ASPH for low light and wide apertures. They seem to be made for each other with great color rendition and relatively fine grain. Try some in Montreal for me. Are we the only members of the 50 ASPH fan club? harmsr Posted September 3, 2006 Share #5 Posted September 3, 2006 William, I'm back in AZ for the moment. Montreal is about two weeks away again. Last week was Washington, D.C.. Unfortunately I only had about 4 hours free before a flight out of Dulles, but I did get to visit the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. I had the CM with me loaded with a roll of Portra 400NC and Fuji 800Z. I was under impressed with the Fuji. IMHO the new Kodak 800 is much better. I have been trying the 100UC and 400UC but just can't get into it for here in AZ. (too saturated and contrasty for this type of lighting) Like we have discussed in the past, I really like the 160NC over the 160VC. Relative to 400 speed, I think that I will take you up on trying the 400VC. I'll bore you with some of the photos tomorrow. Best, Ray P.S.: I remember the photos you took inside there with the 50 Lux ASPH and can now appreciate them even more than before. You were not kidding about it being dark. Interesting angles and composition are also challenging with restricted access and all the people walking around. Cheers to the 50 Lux ASPH fan club. lambroving Posted September 3, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted September 3, 2006 Ray, Here are three of my faves from that short visit. I used 800 Supra for the Clipper and Shuttle. Since it's no longer made, I'd like to see your results with the new 800 Portra. Should I post these again?! http://www.leica-camera-user.com/discus_e/messages/11/111939.html?1108611924 http://www.leica-camera-user.com/discus_e/messages/11/106743.html?1109046300 http://www.leica-camera-user.com/discus_e/messages/11/110930.html?1108488611 Please DO bore me with more photos...
