This weekend the Warhawk aviation museum in Boise, ID holds one of the best and most attended WW2 airplane 'fly-ins' anywhere'. To paraphrase (i.e.plagiarize) old Winston C, what worries me is how the few keep getting fewer, as every year there seem to be a few less of these wonderful relics of another time altogether.

It isn't as good as the 90 -280 APO, but the 100-400 keeps surprising me with just how good, effective and user-friendly it really is, especially with the 1.4 extender. I kept the 90 -280 but find that I have only used it once since purchasing the 100-400 w. extender, because that combo offers such a significantly more usable range.

All SL / with either 24-90 V.E. or 100-400 Vario - Elmar SL

.... a few more, starting with some newer A-10 'Warthogs' - from the nearby Air Force base doing a courtesy flyby.

Thank you, Stuart - it's a Grumman F8F 'Bearcat' - the last piston engine powered fighter Grumman built and that the Navy used.

Single seater, carrier-based, light, had the best rate of climb of any WW2 U.S. fighter and fast with its R2800 engine.

And a B-25?
