During an event last week, I took some pictures of watches (inside a boutique) and I noticed some have horizontal lines, others have vertical lines. I didn't touch any settings on my Q3 compared to images I took before these (which look fine). Any idea what causes this and how I prevent it next time?

if its from the lighting, just change the shutter speed till they're gone

Thanks! I have one shot that I took after this one, that does not show the stripes. Let me check whether it had a different shutter speed (I should have come up with that myself...)

I checked and the image I took after which doesn't show the lines, had a slower shutter speed (1/50th instead of 1/125th), and a lower ISO (250 instead of 500). But I guess it is the shutter speed indeed.

Electronic.

Then it's the electronic shutter sequential sensor read-out interfering with the frequency of flickering of artificial lights. And yes, you can mitigate it by selecting a different electronic shutter speed, and avoid it by selecting the mechanical shutter (because the latter doesn't have a sequential read-out).
