Rjhb1977 Posted September 3, 2024 Share #1 Posted September 3, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) During an event last week, I took some pictures of watches (inside a boutique) and I noticed some have horizontal lines, others have vertical lines. I didn't touch any settings on my Q3 compared to images I took before these (which look fine). Any idea what causes this and how I prevent it next time? Welcome, dear visitor! I have one shot that I took after this one, that does not show the stripes. Let me check whether it had a different shutter speed (I should have come up with that myself...) LocalHero1953 Posted September 3, 2024 Share #6 Posted September 3, 2024 Were you using electronic or mechanical shutter? The Q leaf shutter should not do this with artificial lighting.

But I guess it is the shutter speed indeed.
LocalHero1953 Posted September 4, 2024 Share #9 Posted September 4, 2024 4 hours ago, Rjhb1977 said: Electronic. Then it's the electronic shutter sequential sensor read-out interfering with the frequency of flickering of artificial lights. And yes, you can mitigate it by selecting a different electronic shutter speed, and avoid it by selecting the mechanical shutter (because the latter doesn't have a sequential read-out).
