The Need for Two Bodies

Loupe is cheaper than a second body with different magnification... Also, M8 users have no choice there.

Cheaper, but not better. The view through the VF is better (brighter, less distortion, etc.) without a magnifier. Screwing the magnifier on and off also slows down lens changes! ;)

To which I could add (though more generally and in the case of SLRs) two more reasons namely:

(a) with an SLR you've got the possibility of having different v/f screens. though with my R8/R9 pair, the newish universal screen with grid-lines added gives me the best of all worlds, and it's on both of my bodies

(B) having TWO biggish Leicas round your neck really is pure exhibitionism, and, I have to confess, rather vulgar

All these sound like good reasons to me!

I am loving my recent M6 so I think I may need to replace my M3 with another M6 or MP

Why replace? Think in terms of "both and" rather than "either or".

Not if you actually use them. ;)

Since others have already mentioned the obvious practical reasons, I'll give my purely self-indulgent reasons.

1) Because I want an MP.

2) Because I want to post pictures in both the "I love my M6" and "I love my MP" threads.
