Jeff S Posted September 4, 2024 Share #21  Posted September 4, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Enjoy!  Can’t do much great PP without great pics.  I’ve always just been an amateur enthusiast, so never had to be motivated by work. Happy shooting. Jeff
Advertisement Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Hi Jeff S, Take a look here Looking at getting an M11P and totally new to M series so lens info needed. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
01af Posted September 4, 2024 Share #22 Â Posted September 4, 2024 Summilux lenses being faster but less sharp than the respective Summicron lenses is a thing of the past. It used to be true in the '60s, '70s, and '80s. In the age of Asph lenses, sharpness (or lack thereof) is no issue anymore. The only disadvantage of modern Summilux-M Asph lenses, compared to their Summicron-M or Summicron-M Asph counterparts, is size, weight, and cost ... not performance. But then, this has changed with the advent of even more modern Apo-Summicron-M Asph lenses. Today's Apo-Summicrons are the (current) apex of modern M lenses. They offer superior sharpness and beautiful renditions at the same time. However, they come at unprecedented prices.
ALScott Posted September 4, 2024 Author Share #23 Â Posted September 4, 2024 I ended up with a 35 and 50 Summicron. Â From my research and experience with my SL 50 lux I wanted something a bit different for these two. Â The Lux's seem to give more attention/focus to the center and I wanted a more balanced look for the landscapes I will be shooting. Â That could be totally wrong but it seemed like a safe bet. No, money definitely is a consideration. Last night when I typed the original question I became hyper aware of the gear's cost. I started with the Q3 early this year and truly rediscovered my love of photography so I sold several hobby type things I wasn't using enough (Jeeps, old camera gear, guns, etc.) that I acquired over many years to fund all of this gear. I am definitely on a budget. I did the sell and buy earlier in the year and limited my purchase based upon what I could sell.  Enjoy your new system.
