Hi,

I'm up for a MP and went to my local Leica Store in Heidelberg today. I never thought about buying a silver M, my M-A and Monochrom is black and I love it.

Then the guy showed me a silver MP and I was kind of flashed, didn't expect this. So I'm in a real dilemma (a nice one, I know).

So now what? Silver or black? Forgive me, I know this question has been asked a thousand times but not on Aug, 31st 2024 🫣

Oh and I own the Summilux-M 35/1.4 Steel Rim, which looked really cool on the silver MP.

Thoughts ladies and gents? I'm kind of lost at the moment.

Have a wonderful (long) weekend all.

Cheers,

Ralf

Easy. One of each 😀

I am going back and forth over the years.

I choose the black M11 also because of lower weight. But I also own a chrome film MP and love that body as well.

If you already own 2 black bodies, why not go chrome this time?

silver lens as well as black lens look fine on either body as well.

Let us know what you decided.

Well, it is the black paint to accompany the M-A.

Do you mind taking a picture or two with the steel rim reissue mounted on the black chrome M-A? I want to see what the combination looks like. Thanks!

When faced with these dilemmas there is only one logical conclusion. Go into debt and buy both 😂

Non-joking though... the silver is too flashy for me. I always buy black. I think the silver is beautiful though.

Yeah it is the black one, the sensation for chrome lasted only for few days. Happy now.

What I am amazed of is that Heidelberg has a Leica Store... and Hanover, Dortmund or Cologne for instance have not...
Beautiful city, Heidelberg.

The store is operated by a passionate Leica guy and he put together a young team who runs the store and gallery. He seems to have another photo store in the south of Germany so Heidelberg is kind of a good location as there are zillions of tourists walking the city every year. There is always something cooking when I am there and the store kind of has become a meeting point for local Leica shooters. Having said that, I only go there with my credit card left home.
