rclompus Posted August 30, 2024 Share #1 Posted August 30, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can someone identify a source for a high quality 34mm multicoated UV filter? I usually purchase B&W Master series. Heliopan seems to have discontinued a multicoated UV filter in this diameter. Tiffin makes a filter but it’s not multicoated. I prefer to use one with a 34mm screw on lens shade rather than use a step up ring with a larger filter and the have to search for another lens shade. Amazon lists a filter by Opteka for $4.95 but I’m not convinced of its quality. Many thanks.

Fotoklaus Posted August 30, 2024 Share #5 Posted August 30, 2024 If it has not to be new i would go for a used one like this from Rodentsock, for example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/375572168518?_nkw=uv+fiter+34&epid=1541257974&itmmeta=01J6H35FMHWHTYHJYNNERKK5CN&hash=item5771d87f46:g:93oAAOSwQY5mrkUl&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA0HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKnO6vvFby3L2CVDcvBFHPBJcygbiHRwMiCAUTNJTs%2FJDdL4QwvecS6vVm1zYBCyd5MnBUiphDEhRlGh7xL0ngdqBppAM8DHqp5RbQgkCKEIWwmuwbvWEgZBgXPdBcUCz5VLKF4Qm4N7SesiCb8R0Bi1yci4a7Rpsw7WrnphsrV2kN8T4GNTW6eGaChXqvrmqZ%2FoId4PkSHea0Kg8G7q4nHc4a61vbbomYgEA8K24lJTiN43A8PAOmV28WkLmAMnHdo%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR7T6laO0ZA
rclompus Posted August 30, 2024 Author Share #6 Posted August 30, 2024 (edited) The Hoya introductory kit features a UV filter with a single coating. I am unsure about current listings of Rodenstock filters. Little information is available. I solved this by ordering a 39mm B&W UV Pro filter with a 34 to 39mm step up ring. A short 39mm screw in lens shade as ordered. If the Voigtlander VM 40/2.8 doesn’t flare, the lens shade may not be necessary. Thank you to everyone who suggested resources. Be well, RC Edited August 30, 2024 by rclompus
