Advertisement Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Hi Erna, Take a look here M5 28mm lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
a.noctilux Posted August 24, 2024 Share #2 Â Posted August 24, 2024 Yes of course. You have hundred(s) choices of 28mm lenses. Only old 28mm Elmarit lenses, not all only those with protruding optics at rear like one of these: https://wiki.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/28mm_f/2.8_Elmarit_IÂ = NOT M5 compatible ... from version II, it's fine https://wiki.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/28mm_f/2.8_Elmarit_II
a.noctilux Posted August 24, 2024 Share #3  Posted August 24, 2024 (edited) Nice Big M with some features not found in other Ms. I like this old discussion, here (link) I add obvious info that you do need aux vievfinder for 28mm framing. a page from Wiki, here (link) some infos and some dowloads there. ... and the I love thread, https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/84399-i-love-my-m5/ Edited August 24, 2024 by a.noctilux
costa43 Posted August 24, 2024 Share #4  Posted August 24, 2024 Yes, as per above advice, avoid lenses that have big protruding elements. you also don’t have the framelines but using the whole viewfinder is not too far off. The m5 is a superb user camera with polarising looks and looks are important in the Leica world.
