Shameetman Posted August 24, 2024 Share #1 Posted August 24, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone shooting jpeg with the m10-r? I really like the BW Sooc. Still need to try the color settings. I have been playing a little bit with the saturation, but the result is that it’s directly very satured or too grey. I just like to keep things easy, and I’m done spending hours in Lightroom. Tired of going back and forth with color corrections and different styles. For those who shoot color JPG Sooc, what are your settings? Feel free to share sample images. *I am aware of the benefits of shooting raw, and the disadvantages of jpg as well. PCPix Posted August 24, 2024 Share #2 Posted August 24, 2024 I tend to leave saturation and sharpness on standard - and only shift the contrast away from standard if the scene is very contrasty or very flat.

I have not thought of it in this way. Thanks for sharing, makes senses.
TomB_tx Posted August 24, 2024 Share #4 Posted August 24, 2024 I find the SOOC color jpg files from the M10 quite good, and often use them with minimal adjustment. On the M9 I would shoot DNG and convert, but they did a better job on the M10 jpgs. As an OLD slide film shooter I agree - don't like to spend too much time working on computer tweaking images. Jeff S Posted August 24, 2024 Share #5 Posted August 24, 2024 I’d rather enjoy the benefits of RAW/DNG and, if saving PP time is important, create color profile(s), presets and/or revise default import settings. If one is is going to spend time changing JPEG settings based on scene conditions, as suggested above, the same can be done quickly in PP, but with far more file flexibility, short and long term. I’d rather not interrupt my shooting workflow, and save easy changes for later. Different strokes… Jeff
CP93 Posted August 24, 2024 Share #6 Posted August 24, 2024 I found no real difference in quality between SOOC B&W vs converting DNG to B&W JPG in Lightroom, so I stopped using up the extra disc space.
