Problem with Fomapan 400 in Leica MP

Hi everyone, I experienced a strange problem with Fomapan 400: Whenever I load my MP with one of the new plastic canisters (instead of the metal ones), my camera can hardly wind the film and the shutter is blocked.

No problems with any other film stock or the old Foma cartridges.

Has anyone experienced the same challenges?

When I used plastic film containers back in the 80s to load bulk film, I sometimes had issues with the film chamber springs squeezing the exit slit too much. I found no other solution than to stick with metal containers

If Foma uses the same plastic canisters as Arista (split lengthwise) - they work fine for me in all M & R bodies I've tried. I've been reloading with them for a few months.

Just to clarify: I‘m not bulk-loading, it‘s about the factory-loaded canisters.

Yes - same as the Arista that I've been using for a few months without problems. I bought them loaded by Arista and worked fine, then began reloading - also without issues.

I had the same plastic canisters and find the film sits extremly tight in the canister and comes out only with force.

I dont't like them.

Wait, these cartridges, are they reusable? Like you can pop them open like the Kaiser ones and bulk film in them? Did not knew that Foma used plastic. The ones I got is metal, but I only shoot asa 200 cartridges
