Anybody order directly from Sigma?

There are no camera stores near enough to me to warrant trying to build a relationship with nor would the closest have the lens in L mount.  I am looking to get a 150-600 sports lens but the only choices are going to be somewhere online.  I would love to find one at a Leica store but that seems less than a slim chance.  I was wondering if anyone has ordered directly from Sigma and if there was an issue with the lens were they responsive.  There seem to be a lot of folks who get lens than perfect copies and if that happens I just want to be able to easily and quickly swap the lens for another.

Hello. Yes, I bought my 500 f/5.6 lens directly from Sigma. I have not tested it thoroughly yet, but so far all indications are that it is a good copy. Sigma charged for shipping (I live on Kauai, and like you, there is no camera store near), but did not charge tax. So that was nice. Once the lens arrived I registered it online with Sigma USA, and if I remember correctly it carries a 4 year warranty.

I threw one in the cart and noticed the shipping charge but it was only like $10.  I think I will just order from Sigma direct.

Hi - I bought a 18-50 1:2.8 DC DN L-mount lens direct from Sigma here in Australia a year or so ago and delivery was prompt.  Absolutely no problems. Cheers

Just ordered!  Pumped about it too.  I have scoured the web for better deals and for any savings via eBay I feel much better about paying a little more and ordering direct.  I will let y'all know how it goes.  Weird on the order, I checked "no signature on delivery" or whatever it said, and the order would not go through.  Unchecked that and it went right through.  I was using Amex card which I always use for points, etc. and have never had that happen before for way too many dollars worth of orders.

I think I read somewhere on the sight that signature on delivery is required for warranty reasons. Congratulations on your new lens! I hope you like it!
