My last Leica was the Leica X Vario but it was stolen and no longer available when the break in occurred.

Would the Leica D-Lux 8 have same picture quality even though it is not APS-C format ? Is the build quality on the D-Lux 8 any good as it is built in China ? With the D-Lux 7, it was just a re-badged Panasonic Lumix LX 100 ii

The build quality is excellent, it is wonderful in your hand. As for the image quality, I have not tried it sufficiently to tell, but of course MFT can never quite match APS-C or FF. I would expect the same as from the D-Lux 7. It's the handling, menus and look that won me over immediately. As for the XVario, I still own one and strangely, I just felt that it could be funny to try it again, even take it on my next holiday, together with the D-Lux. I have other gear, APS-C or FF, I have the choice, but somehow I feel it would be nice not to be reduced to resolution and dynamics but having some fun instead of work and a portable package. No idea what will come out of this!
